Phil Reilly
President
Phil Reilly was formerly the president of CMD, one of the largest advertising agencies in the Northwest. An active fencer for over 50 years, Phil has successfully competed at all levels: high school, college, nationally, internationally, and veterans. He was a member of the U.S. Olympic fencing team in 1980 and 1984, and 1st alternate in 1976. He has served on the OFA board since 1994.
Mary O’Connor
Treasurer
Mary O’Connor is a community volunteer. She previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for thirteen years and M Financial Group for twelve years before leaving to spend time with her daughter, Sophia, who has been fencing at OFA for the past seven years. She was elected to the board in 2021.
David Hosenpud
Vice President
David Hosenpud is an attorney and partner at Lane Powell PC of Portland, focusing on commercial and employment law. After a 23-year hiatus from fencing, David joined OFA in 2000 and has been an active, competitive fencer ever since. He is a past president of the OFA board and has served on the board since 2004.
Alfred Lara
Board Member
Alfred Lara’s passion for fencing has continued over more than 46 years, which has afforded him many high-level competitive opportunities and experiences. A former sales and marketing executive for various Fortune 500 companies, he has successfully translated his strategic thinking between the boardroom and fencing salle. He has served on the OFA board since 2017.
Bronek Grulich
Board Member
Bronek Grulich is a native of the Czech Republic, a U.S. Coast Guard Surfman who participates in search and rescue operations on the Oregon Coast, and the father of Rayaana, an OFA fencer. Bronek represented the Czech Republic in the Biathlon and competed in the Junior Biathlon World Championships in 1999. He has served on the OFA board since January 2023.
Kim Klein-Braddock
Board Member
Kim Klein-Braddock is a sports performance psychologist and world-class veteran fencer. In her private practice, she has worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels, including Olympic, NBA, LPGA and college athletes. Kim recently made her first USA National team and represented the United States at the 2018 Veteran World Championships. She has served on the OFA Board for more than 12 years.
Nicholas Kakehi
Athlete Representative
Nicholas Kakehi is a student at Sunset High School and has been fencing competitively since age 9. He has served as an athlete representative on the OFA board since October 2021. Nick is a Level 8 saber referee and preparing for foil and epee referee testing.
