OFA hosts two series of four Progressive Tournaments each year. The events, which are held on Saturdays, are great opportunities for fencers to gain competitive experience. The events are sanctioned and refereed, and open to fencers from all clubs.
Our Progressives are fun and fully sanctioned events open to all fencers, not just members of OFA. Many fencers come from other clubs to participate. Registration and start times are available at askFRED.net. We strongly encourage fencers to register in advance, although entries are also accepted on the day of competition at the door. USA Fencing competitive membership and regulation equipment are required. Loaner equipment is available.
Here’s the schedule of events for all OFA Progressive tournaments. The listed times are close of registration.
Event | Start Time
Y10 Mixed Sabre | 11:30 a.m.
Y14 Mixed Sabre | 11:30 a.m.
Y12 Mixed Sabre | 12:30 p.m.
Open Mixed Sabre | 2 p.m.
Each fencer earns points based on performance. The fencer with the most points at the end of the four progressive events wins the series and a ceremonial sabre. Full details on scoring and other criteria are available here.
OFA fencers compete throughout the region, the United States and in many international competitions.
